How to Establish a Strong Online Presence

Online presence makes it a lot easier for your potential customers to find out if your content is worthwhile.

Strong online presence is the first and most important aspect of your successful online business.

If you want to make money online to achieve a financial freedom, to drop your boring and tedious job, to work only when you want and where you want, then you need to exist online.

In this article, I will show you how to establish a strong online presence. You will greatly benefit from it later and build everything else on top of it. Strong online presence is a very important part of your overall success.

In order to set up strong online presence, you will need to create 3 things:

  1. Facebook account with a business page
  2. Twitter business account
  3. A blog on your own domain

Creating a Facebook Page

I bet you probably already have one. Maybe you use it just for posting vacations photos to some family members, maybe you have a lot of friends, you’ve never personally met. It doesn’t matter. What you need is a Facebook Page.

Facebook Page has some features your regular personal account doesn’t, and you will need these features. So let’s create a page now. It’s quite simple.

First, go to your Facebook account. Click that arrow on the top bar and select Create Page.

Next, you need to choose, what type of Page you want to create. I suggest you pick Brand or Product. It’s the best for what you will offer.

Next, you need to pick the name. Before you do this, check if this name is available on Twitter and if the domain name is available.

Once you have your Page properly set up, you need to tell others about its existence. The easiest way is to start with your friends. Even if you’re a new Facebook user, you have a lot of contacts in your Gmail account, it’s almost a sure thing, that those people are already on Facebook too! Add them as your friends. This way you will create your first pool of followers in no time.

Once you have friends, ask them to Like your page. More likes you have, more people will treat your page as something worth looking at.

Proper usage of Page header

Use the header of your Facebook Page properly. This is a great place for some advertisement. Take a look at the image below. I offer my $10 handbook for FREE for anyone who will subscribe to my list. I will tell you more about how to set up a great subscription system later, now I just want to demonstrate, that Facebook Page gives you a free billboard space. Don’t waste this precious space with your photo, make it work for you!

Ok, now that you have your Page and all your friends like it, you want to move even further. Facebook has a pretty good marketing system and if you know what kind of niche to target, you can get a lot of new Likes for a very little money.

But first, you need something to offer, something eye-catching. People won’t Like your page just because you want it, they won’t care if they think it’s not worth their time. You need to offer something interesting.

You can promote the whole Page or just a single Post, but I want to show you something most people still don’t know about. You can promote your Page for free. Hopefully, this feature is still available when you read this article because I personally think that Facebook is losing money letting us use this hack I will show you in few second.

Creating the post

We will start with the post. You need to make it attractive, so people will click on it, or at least give it a Like.

If you don’t know how to begin, get some inspiration from the Internet. You can, for example, write some short article and name it properly.

A good name would be something like “5 Mistakes You Need To Avoid When Choosing A New Car”.

This is a very broad topic, so you don’t need to worry about targeting a wrong niche. It’s very specific, so people know exactly what they will get by clicking on your post.

Next, add a good image or photo. The image is even more important than the catchy title of your article because it’s the first thing your customer’s brain will process.

Using free images

In this case, I would suggest a frightened guy pulling out his hair! You can find those kinds of images on Google, but be careful about usage rights. To specify that you want only images you can reuse for free, choose the option as shown in the image below in Google’s image search results.

Go to Search tools -> Usage rights and select Labeled for reuse with modification if you want to be sure that nobody will sue you in the future when you become the famous online entrepreneur.

Once you have your image and your text ready, you need to publish it somewhere, so people can read it, if they are interested.

The easiest way to get yourself some free publishing space is Tumblr. If you don’t know what Tumblr is or how it works, take a look at this video:

If you want to just harvest Likes, there’s no need to spend your money on content-aware people. I usually choose countries, where I get the most Likes for the lowest price.

Invite people to Like your page

Once you have the results from your campaign, you need to invite people who liked your post, to like the whole page as well. This is a very pretty feature people almost don’t know about. Take a look at the image below:

These are the people who liked my post. It’s almost 750 likes and I will show you how to translate those post likes to page likes for free. All you need to do is to click on the list (blue link showing names of people followed by “and 724 others” ). New window will appear and it will look like this:

Go through the list and click Invite button next to each person. They will be invited to Like your page! Based on my experience, not everyone will like your page, but there’s a good percentage of conversion, let’s say 30%. Also, it’s important to note that Facebook recently applied a new policy regarding this feature. There’s a limit to the number of people you can invite this way per day. It’s important because there are still some tutorials showing how to do this automatically. They’re outdated, it won’t work anymore.

I suggest you invite 100 people per day. It’s a pretty safe amount so Facebook won’t disable this feature for you.


Let’s take a look Twitter now. Creating a new Twitter account is very easy, so I won’t show it here. Once you have your account, you should post at least 5 relevant tweets that demonstrate what kind of business you do.

The strategy I will show you now involves the principle of reciprocity. It’s a proven fact, that once you follow somebody, he tends to follow you back. It’s not a 100% ratio, rather some 20–30%, but it’s still a good number. The important part of this strategy is to follow only relevant people. Start with your competitors. Find them on Twitter and take a look at the list of their followers. These are your potential customers! Follow them and be active, reply to their posts from time to time. Some of them will follow you back and even look at your profile. This is exactly where you want them.

To make the most of your Twitter profile, you need to use it the similar way as your Facebook page, namely you need to properly use the header image.

Now take a look at the image below. This is how my BOHEMIAPPS Twitter account looks like. I am using the header image to offer free handbook. I also include the important information in the description of the account along with the link to the landing page where people can subscribe to my mailing list in order to receive my handbook by e-mail.

Last, but not least. Or maybe I should say the most important for the last. Create your own blog. If you want to start without paying upfront for any hosting, I suggest you create a static page and host it for free. Your own domain name is a must, but it can be the last thing you will pay for if you use many free services available on the internet these days.
